AllFresh 2004


A year ago the Fresh Industry in Southren Africa welcomed the “one event serves all.” AllFresh! 2004 held at Fairview River Lodge in Tzaneen, was the exciting result of a merge between the annual Fresh Produce Conference and the annual Citrus Symposium – and now it has become an annual all-inclusive industry event for Southren Africa, with the deciduous fruit and vegetable industries joining officially from 2005. allFresh! 2005 has the official support of Fruit SA and all its stakeholders, Fresh Produce Exporters’ Forum, the Deciduous Fruit Producers’ Trust, the Citrus Growers Association and SA Vegetables.

More than 400 Delegates


An average of 400 delegates attended AllFresh! 2004. Based on attendance statistics, the delegate profile was as follows: Growers & packhouses (53%), growers’ associations (2%), retailers (12%), exporters (12%), wholesalers (2%), fresh-cut processors (2%), service providers such as certification
bodies (4%),
 




In-put supply companies such as seed, fertilizer, agro-chemical companies (7%), Produce Cargo agents and transport (1%), commercial sector such as banks and financial services (1%) academics, researchers, and government officials from the National Department of Agriculture (2%), National Fresh Produce Markets & Market Agents (2%).

Something for everyone

The needs of all role-players in the fresh produce supply chain were addressed. Suppliers had the opertunity to communicate innovation with other suppliers in the supply chain and with producers. Producers receive information on innovation and trends in the industry and network with suppliers and other producers. Delegates realized that the need to be informed on innovation is urgent.
